Just wrapped up a week making rocking chairs with these good folks.

Rocking chair classes end very predictably.
I actually got to finish my own chair thanks to the help of Joel Paul’s presence in the class. Joel is helping me teach classes and today he’s helping Dave Fisher with his bird bowl class.
It’s going to be another fun week for sure. While Dave teaches his class, I’m going to finish preparing for the next rocker class in a few weeks. I would normally be in my post class funk, where I am excited and exhausted in equal measures, but Dave’s class is a great distraction.
We even got a visit from Frank Strazza. Frank is an unbelievably talented and accomplished woodworker and expert in marquetry.
Frank and I started chatting about having him come out next year to teach, he’s been on my short list of desired guest instructors for a while, so I was excited to have him stop by.
Dave and Frank have corresponded but never met in person. As I sat there watching and listening to these two brilliant artists, I felt like all my effort getting this space built was well worth it.
Thanks as always for your support and patience. I love writing these posts, but when I get in a class, all my energy goes into teaching. I’ll get some rest and get back to writing more soon.
It’s great to be here this week and I’m so glad to have overlapped the rocking chair class for a bit. The shop is 🔥 and certainly a new crossroads for chair makers and craftspeople of all types! Congrats Pete!
Beautiful chairs! photo of bird Bowls is a beauty. Glad to see everything is going well. The work space looks fabulous, light and airy. Now that I know how to comment, I'll do it more often. Robin says Hi.....Rich
