I highly recommend the turning intensive for anyone on the fence. I was there in May and, on top of it being a lot of fun, I learned more than I thought I could in a short period.
I added solar almost two years ago, and haven't paid one cent to the electric company since. I vacillated for several months over making the investment, but in hindsight it was a complete no-brainer.
I'm so delighted that you are getting the solar panels, Pete...you will love them! And you will become cheerfully addicted to checking your solar panel app to see how much energy you are creating each day!
The house looks great! That must be a relief to be done with that. It would be interesting to hear about the results of operating the solar panels a month or so after in service.
The Turning Intensive is miraculous. Pete organizes this class in such a thoughtful, well-sequenced way that we cannot fail to absorb and integrate basic principles. He gives you the understanding you need to be able to pick up the tool and approach the lathe with an appreciation of how it all works. And for me, the first TI weekend taught me to be safe, but not to be afraid. By my third TI weekend, I had put a deposit down on the Grammercy Tools foot treadle lathe! My shop space is very limited, and the foot treadle lathe can be folded up and slipped away. I also love the idea that my emergency stop button is my foot! When it arrives (production is behind) I will eagerly report to Pete on putting his excellent teaching to use.
My message is too long, so I'll just end by adding that if you have not yet been to the barn, this weekend-length class could not be a lovlier introduction to classes with Pete.
Is the turning intensive full?
There is still space, email me at peter@petergalbert.com to enroll!
I don’t see it yet, but will look out for it

House looks great , you should be happy with the solar love seeing negative electric bills in the good producing months

Thanks for your wisdom on sharpening these tools. It is much appreciated.
Solar is a great investment, and drives excellent savings.
