The Whole Shebang
It’s up, a full years worth of classes. Enrollment starts on Sunday Dec 28 at 9 am. Visit petergalbert.com/schedule to check it out.
I know it’s patently obvious, but it really is just settling in for me that I actually built a school and I get to do what I want with it. I think when I began, I really just wanted to be free of renting and gain some control over the future. But then the construction took over. I had no actual sense of what would happen when the space was done and I was able to calm down a bit. Getting to put together the classes for next year has driven it home, I am over the moon with excitement at the plan for next year and beyond. I hope you will come out and join us for a class so you can share in the fun.
We have classes with Dave Fisher, Peter Follansbee, Tim Manney, Andy Glenn and a few new folks, Chris Schwarz, David Douyard and Eric Goodson. And of course, the triumphant return of Bern Chandley to these United States. Check out the offerings here.
I will personally be teaching 7 chair classes (a few are already full or almost full in the beginning of the year) and a few Turning intensives. Here are a few shots of the projects and skills that will be in the shop this year, I can’t wait. There are spots available in a few classes that were previously announced, feel free to enroll anytime, no need to wait on those.
Eric Goodson (right) is an expert pole lathe turner and I’m thrilled to add this skill the roster.
Dave keeps coming up with new and inventive classes. His courses launch you farther into the craft than you can imagine.
David Douyard has designed a sweet ladderback rocker.
Tim is returning with his Stool class, which has the students making all the turning, joinery and shaping.
And I’ve decided to meld my Modern Rocker with a Birdcage Rocker design I made long ago to offer a Birdcage Rocker Class. I’ll post an image of the chair once I get it done, but here is the inspiration. I made this one about 12 years ago.
Please let me know if you have any questions about the classes or schedule and be sure to fire off an email early so you can reserve your spot.

Um… modern birdcage rocking chair class? Yes please.
