So excited to see the tops arrived safely!

Jeff brought the drill sharp setup over on Saturday to show me. I was floored at how simple and intuitive it is! Excited to see how this changes the whole workflow of keeping a sharp bit at hand. And I have a drawer of dull premium Brad points waiting

Thanks Shea, I'm excited to get it out there

If I had a product, I'd hire Jeff to write the manual.

He's the only choice as far as i'm concerned

That’s a first class instructional video, well done! Thanks! I’ll be on the lookout for the pre-order sign up.

Very excited to get my hands on a Drill Sharp! I can’t speak highly enough regarding the products and customer experience I’ve had with Pete. Question- what grit CBN do you like for this process?

Peter Galbert's avatar

I like the woodriver 120 grit, thanks for the kind comments

Even if it doesn’t cure depression I’m super stoked about this. It seems like an elegant tool you can do a LOT with, I’m excited to explore more.

Thanks John, I'm looking forward to your feedback!

I've had good success making and sharpening my bits using a shop made thingamajig, and am eager to try the new drill sharp! Would you mind telling us where you got that drill chuck? The large "plate" on it looks ideal for registering against the adjustment screw. Thanks Pete for all you've done for us!

Lewis,

I'm so happy to hear it, the new tool makes it so much easier and more accurate. I am including a chuck with the attached washer in each box as well as a sample bit

I made the wooden bit holder a while ago and recently worked up the nerve to give it a try using the old videos. It was a revelation how simple it was to get a sharp bit with a clean exit hole. It did take some fiddling with positioning the jig, which the Drillsharp would obviate. Very nice work and thanks for the writing and the videos!

Todd,

that's great to hear, I think you are going to love the Drillsharp. When I got my hands on the new version, I was astonished how much easier it was to dial in the results. Thanks for being and intrepid craftsman and diving in, I appreciate your encouragement

Jeff has rather precise and linear methods, which in turn help create excellent operational manuals. I can't wait to get my hands on that drill sharp...my version of the one you taught me is (cough, cough) not quite as good as the Master's.

Alicia,

I'm so excited to get this in your hands. I was blown away how much control it gives in the process. When I look at a pile of bits, I can tell my "old" bits at a glance

Speaking of drilling bench dog holes in the new bench tops, any tips for us on where to place and best way to drill? I’ve got my brother-in-laws old bench he built but never put in dog holes. Thanks

Peter Galbert's avatar

Jean,

I am going to use the same fixture I use for all my drilling into the seats. You can find the plans on my website in the store under Drilling Jig, they are free

Jean Singer's avatar

Well…of course! I know your drilling jig. Thanks

Great video! I am hoping to eventually be in the position to use a drill sharp - fantastic tool. First I need to get a grinder. What grinder do you use/recommend?

Peter Galbert's avatar

Steve,

I have an 8" grinder from Rikon, but there are lots of them out there that are good, you don't need to spend a ton. But do yourself a favor and get a Wolverine toolrest from Oneway, it is essential and reasonably priced
