How’s that for a hot take. If you’ll bear with me, I think you might agree.

There was some interest in the technique I use for jointing seat blanks and as I thought about it, I realized it requires going into detail. It seems simple enough, push a hand plane across the edge of the boards until they’re flat and square to the faces and glue it up. But as with most things, it ain’t that easy. The joints in the seats are the only ones I make that rely entirely on glue for their strength and longevity, so I take the surface contact very seriously. I’m going to split this into three parts, the process, the skill of using the tool and the tuning of the tool
