Thanks Pete. A Wonderful tip and easy jig to set up. Nice solution to my novice stretcher drilling issues.

Cheers,

Michael

Excellent addition to the Galbert tool creations. I have my tube part on order and look forward to test driving it on my next chair. Thanks Pete!

I have an incredible urge to make specifically for shooting darts across the shop. Maybe with a laser attached.

Fast, repeatable, and simple. The best kind of solution. I recently found and bought some couplers that fit two different diameters so I could use smaller shank bits ( servocity.com) They’re aluminum tho, so maybe less robust than the steel ones

Thank you for sharing this. Just drilled for stretchers for the first time. This would have eased the anxiety.

I have just watched this for the second time. I enjoy your posts. There are three things from which I have really prospered: 1) Using a deck of cards to explain wood grain, 2) Angle jig for drilling leg holes, 3) and now this.

Damn! 1) Using a deck of playing cards to demonstrate wood grain, 2) Jig for correct angle drilling for leg holes, 3) This video - - I can't complain for paying for your Substack posts

Gotta love smart, simple solutions to otherwise complex situations.

I’m pretty sure Izzy Swan made a youtube video of a tool for lining up chair stretcher mortises that looks useful.

I’ll have to check it out, I’ve known Izzy since before YouTube was even a think, very inventive guy
